Something that's been referenced to recently on EA is the Warp Pipe Gamer's list. So far it seems to be just a crude list of people with ways of getting in contact with them (AIM, Skype, etc.) and the games they are capable of playing. A good start if you've been looking for an excuse to try it out.

Alas, the Gamecube online gaming community is fairly small, since the broadband adapter was never really intended to be used like this. Check out the Warp Pipe official site for news and people's experiences with the software.

I may have indirectly fed you some misinformation in my last comment, though. You can only actually connect directly to one other person. There isn't any gamefinding software like Kali or the cursed gamespy (yet), either. Theoretically you could have two cubes on one LAN hooked into the internet, connecting to another two-cube LAN bringing the total to 16 players - but I haven't read anything about success with this. The lag should be as bad as any other online IP to IP game (like Rise of Nations), so you'd really only find out by trying.

I wonder if the ping is too high for double dash from B.C to ontario. I would love to set that up, since the gamecube's are so cheap.
Is their a communtiy big enough to support online play?

Well, if you get Double Dash and a Gamecube you could have your wish. I've mentioned on this site before the magical application known as Warp Pipe. Once your 'cube is equipped with a broadband adapter (obtainable from the fine folks at Lik Sang), you can trick the Gamecube into thinking that it's on a LAN while it's connected to the internet. Using this method you can play with up to 16 different people. I didn't really mention LAN multiplayer capabilities in my review of Double Dash simply because I didn't have a broadband adapter to test it out. However this concept has my interest piqued enough to get one because this isn't the only title Warp Pipe will work with - Kirby's Air Ride and 1080° Avalanche support it also.

The game that logged the most minutes for me had to be kart on the nintendo64.
Mulitplayer action with tournaments covering the whole circuit. We each had our own racer (princess), and the trash-talking that ensued and the hate for the other driver whenever he received a lucky powerup near the end.
I wish they would release for the PC so i could get back to the multiplayer madness.
